Shy

Dear Amy,
I'm Shy
afraid of what can happen
scared to say something
to accidentally show to much of my feelings
but then again,
just looking and thinking of what could be
won’t do the trick
Chances, so many missed opportunities
constantly surging through my head
taking my mind off of my top priorities
But shouldn’t this be one
and when I finally grow the balls to make a move
I stop in my tracks
curl into a ball
and roll away
cursing myself for wasting another chance to make a move
There seems to be a pattern that I can’t break
build my confidence up
I move in
and retreat as if I were surrounded by an army of rejection
sent to stop me before I reach my destination
constantly fearing the negative
I’m afraid
Please understand what I’m feeling
