Open Your Ears

Location

To be heard,

that is all I ever wanted.

Listen to me Father,

listen to me elders.

Please hear me out;

no interruptions or misconstruing my words.

I will not bow or be controlled by the strings you pull.

I was born with a wild heart; do not try to tame it.

Your ears have been overthrown by your mouth.

Open your ears to the words of others.

Hear the stories of the people around you.

Pain or happiness, I only wish you could hear.

Hear the stories of the lives around you.

You are not the only one with a life of meaning.

We all only want to be heard, to feel like we matter.

So hear me please.

I will not live as a shadow anymore.

Shadows do not have a voice, but I have found one.
