Moonlight

Dancing in the sunlight,

no one could tear us apart.

Holding hands forever,

you held my heart.

Dancing in the sunlight,

we were forever friends.

But in that hot, hot summer,

our time came to an end.

Alone in the sunlight,

no one holding my hand.

Thought I'd be alone forever,

you were my best friend.

Winter's cold, cold moonlight,

has been a little rough.

I can't believe I miss you,

your absence made me tough.

In the sunlight you left me,

so you would gain more friends.

But what hurts me the most is,

you didn't notice us end.

I know I do not need you,

I'm not saying this out of spite.

I'm fun, and free, and happy,

dancing in the moonlight.
