High School, Love?

Nothing compares to the way you made me feel the first day of sophomore year

As you sat across me in that boring math class, I got excited

Truth is, you made it hard for me to not stare. It was close to the end of the day

However, I told myself to not fall asleep even though my body needed an urgent nap

The last thing I needed was to embarrass myself in front of you

As much as I didn't want to look your way to avoid giving myself away,

Naturally, I couldn't resist. I was a sophomore girl aleady day dreaming about us

So instead of taking glances your way, I thought it was best to make eye contact

Eventually, I got you to notice me. To this day, I am unsure of what your reaction was

Recalling that moment makes me smile, it was the begining of our friendship

Valuable is the only word able to describe that moment

Affection grew from that moment of bravery, from the moment I decided to look

Now, as seniors I always look back and think how the two of us never became us.

Today I saw you walking around school with with your arm around another girl.

Even though you seemed happy, my heart broke but because I love you I am happy

Z. You are always in my head, and I would like for you to stay there. N***** S.
