That dirty little L word that no one wants to see

 

I am a woman

The thing people want to bow down

 

I am a poet

That thing you want to just shut up and go away

 

But I will not be silenced

My voice will be heard

And it will scream out the injustices of this world

Until they are no more

 

I will stand tall

Shouting that dirty little L word

Pushing up against your oppression 

I will not go away

And I will most certainly not stay quiet 

 

Because going quietly

Is the same as never fighting

Which would make you just as responsible 

And surely I will fight against you too
