Dear Friends

Dear Friend

Do you really know me?

I know you don't

You believe that you understand my emotions

You even believe my life is a fantasy

And for that, I respond:

"You never truly know someone

until you've walked a mile in their shoes"

The descrimination of my people hurts me

I feel as if I want to cry

They don't know me

Yet I still get teased and picked on

Dear Friends

Aren't I a human too?

We are the future, not the past

So, we need to stand up

Against the oppression

As MLK said,

"Violence is not the answer"

So on one last note, I say

Dear Friends

Don't act the way we are percieved

As one people
