Bully

She’s the girl you go to school with,

The one who’s always last,

The one who cries herself to sleep every night.

But do you really even see her?

He’s the guy who covers up his bruises with lies and his mom’s cover-up.

He’s the one who sits in class living in his mind.

He cries at night to get to sleep,

He cries before school.

Don’t you see the damage here?

It’s glistening in the air.

Do you see the trauma that they go though?

The lies they tell?

Their eyes, they tell.

But what exactly do you do?

You sit and you watch,

You pretend it’s not there.

They’re suffering from pain,

Their heart is in despair.

They’re drowning,

They’re bullied,

They think no one cares.

Yet you sit there and watch.

Why?

That’s what they’re screaming,

Why don’t you help us?

Why don’t you care?

Why?

Must we suffer because we’re different,

Because we’re small,

Because we’re not smart?

STAND UP!

Help us!

Let us know we’re not alone,

Let us know we matter.

Let us know the bully is just another matter.

Teachers,

Stop pretending!

Students,

Stop watching!

Parents,

See us through the lies we tell!

We’re screaming for your help.

Bullies,

We’re begging for your mercy.

We’re begging you to stop.

Why won’t you stop?

Is it because you feel worthless?

You’re afraid?

Is it your home that makes you feel small?

Are you just as messed up as you’re making us?

Or are you trying to fit it?
