Because of You
Before you,
I was dragged along like a chain,
cutting along every vein,
not knowing what it would do to my brain.
Before you,
I felt like I was the weight of a crane,
with such fain,
I let it keep me sane.
Before you,
this was indeed my deepest,
and my loudest cheep.
But now,
because of you,
I don't feel like a grain.
Because of you,
I'm not going down the drain,
I am not longer a little grain.
Because of you,
I know that every one of my gains,
will not just be another of one your stains
when we are both walking around with our canes.
