I'm a grown-up now.
And I do grown-up things.
Like pay my taxes, cry at night,
And wear engagement rings.
And I'm a grown-up now.
So I only watch the news,
I drown unfamiliar feelings,
Things go awry when people forget where they came from.
When one sees a passing stranger and doesn't smile.
When the birds stop polluting the morning air with chatter.
When children don't want a legacy.
