Dear my old self,
I wanted you to see the sunrise again,
How the freedom to stroll through Denver in the mornings,
Became like your second home.
Loving me
is holding late night conversations when
neither of us are comprehensible,
or driving
an hour out of the way to visit.
Spending starry nights parked
in a field watching summer
Thankful,
a short word denying a bond's regression
a soldier fighting the war
between conformity and expression
When I wake I can
Taste the salt in my tears
As life passes by, our sight slips away,
Unable to see what's incredible.
This world is changed with each passing day.
What seems meaningless is most wonderful.
Water falls from the eyes during heartache,
In life they say to cherish every moment,
But they seem to always be forgetting about the little things.
Graduating high school is a huge moment in one’s life,
People focus too much on what is not necessary
Money, electronics, and clothes
But there is so much more out there to see
Things far better than those
Take a look
Smell a smell

Through this tiny journey,
A game as some may call it,
We fall over cracks,
Trip over mistakes,
Fail while achieving,
And make faults within perfection,
But it is just the nature of mankind.
Im a normal school girl
Attending my last year in high school and I still see it
Something students like me are unappreciative about
