To sit down to an amazing meal after a long journey
Giving thanks aloud to the Heavenly chef
New wines, not old enough to foment
Platters spiral outward from the center of the room
My body's aching stuck in this rut.
I'm wanting windows to open
instead doors slam shut.
I live a life that can be taken away
so easily it can be stripped from my soul.
Yet I still trek on living as day to day.
We travel across the ancient land
along emptiness and desert sand
Searching for riches and for gold
From stories our ancestors told
Travelers since the day of birth
in search for gems of the earth
