Discriminate

I’m not really much of a poet
But know I can talk about a lot of crooked mess
Cuz u never know what you’re really capable of
Until you’re put thru the right test.
In the ten years that I have lived here,
I have been judged, discriminated, and hated.
I have been crushed, hurt, and segregated.
I tried and gave the best I could,
I look outside and see my brothers and sisters being abused
Growing up in the hood you get used
Look on the floor see a brother lying blue
Skin tone means nothing when being beaten down and abused
I have an innovative mind
One with many characters and personalities
My friends are imaginary, a figment of my dreams
They come alive as I write on the pages inside a blank notebook of my alter worlds.
Hey, my name is T-Rek
Ya I ain't a reject, it's all about respect
Arab, don't hate, reflect
What are the boundaries of your mind?
Quite similarly of one’s own confine.
But why would someone of such intelligence,
Waste their brilliant thought with such arrogance?
Discriminate sounds much like hate
And that coincidence is surely fate
Millions of cries can be heard
And all because of that one word
One can't control the melanin in their skin
Discriminate sounds much like hate
And that coincidence is surely fate
Millions of cries can be heard
And all because of that one word
One can't control the melanin in their skin
Discriminate sounds much like hate
And that coincidence is surely fate
Millions of cries can be heard
And all because of that one word
One can't control the melanin in their skin
Innocence and IgnoranceThey are both the same kindIt's sort of like the less you knowThe better you can understand It definitely won’t work for schoolBut what about a life lesson?
A life lesson
I have a voice;
Strong and loud.
Can make people listen,
People in the crowd.
I know right from wrong;
I'm not sitting in a cloud.
I'll scream till you hear me;
Scream really loud!
