today.
They smirk and
snicker as

walk among streets
and alleys
home.

and I'll spend half an hour’s wage,
to drink it and wait.
But my apartment is too cold,
and my mattress has bugs,
and I'm stressed about money
I sit here afraid, hoping the phone calls go away.
"You owe us $750", pay right away they'll say.
