It was loud then quiet and as the first words were spoken
my mind went into its only place drowning out the rest of the world.
Learn to not let fear
Control you or your life
For when you live in fear
You are never fully here
Never fully present in each moment
Receiving gifts
Makes me feel anxious
I feel like I do not deserve a gift
And I am unsure how to
Say thank you in a way
I can rhyme all day long
But some times not a single song
With my throat swollen
And my mind bare,
I wish to see my people there.
Can you see the same sunrise as me?
Can it dance upon waves?
