I miss when I was little,
When I didn’t care about how I looked,
The only thing that mattered was being able to play kickball,
I walk the halls alone
I am the loner girl
Who no one notices?
But one day I am caught
I cry because of mental health
I cry because of family issues
They call me the girl who cries
Side by side we stood
Cake, cuddles, cliques
Naïve playful jokes
Through the phone we texted
Shakes, sharing, snakes
Rude words on the screen
Parties I don’t belong at

Your face, speckled with the sands of time
But you did not see me,
Merely glanced in my direction.
So, I stood there letting the warmth of your presence wash over me
Young and free
Happy as can be
Drawing on walls
And playing with dolls
Grow a little older
Things are colder
Getting called names
Can't play some games
Because your ugly and stupid
