In the calming breeze of midday, I used to wonder,
Why do the birds sing their song?
As a small girl of seven, their distant melodies made my mind wander.
White lilies and a black casket
A striking contrast
A lasting emptiness
An unusual summer day
The light drizzles on sunny summer afternoon
A dirth accompanied by birds chirping
This poem is about how a close friend getting in a fatal car accident inspired me to raise awareness for the dangers of driving under the influence.
Just one, I have to drive home
Sweet chimes of birds in the morning sunrise
As a man awakes and hurries to put on his disguise.
A smile that lights up a room, dancing to an upbeat tune
Secretly feels his world crashing down like a monsoon.
The young me knew no heartbreak,
My happiness grew free.
Like air under the treetops,
Like the buzzing of the bees.
The young me saw the sunlight,
My childs eyes did shine.
And then I saw her beauty,
I wanted to die
I wanted to cry
I liked a guy
That made me lie
It made me feel blue
The choices I made
With jade
She gave me a blade
Whats life
That's the question
That acts like a knife
Some say its a session
Others swear its pure depression
But truly think
And ask yourself this
If you blink
