Words have the power over life and death.
Words have the power to kill you.
Words have the power to save you.
Words have the power to control you.
They call you names,
It's all in they're game.
And though they give you shame,
Bullies are not strong.
They push you out,
You try to shout.
And though they don't show dout,
The water crashes over my body
and my ears are invigorated with its sensation:
It's cold in here.
I close my eyes.
I see colors and hues
Dripping.
Down.
Down.
Down.
When you wake up in the morning what do you see
Gourmet style breakfast or a flatscreen tv?
When you see your reflection
Is it really perfection
When you wake up in the morning what do you see
Gourmet style breakfast or a flatscreen tv?
When you see your reflection
Is it really perfection
She was chained by the prejudice surrounding her, ignorance being her saving grace
This little girl, of age five, was stripped of her innocence
In a world full of plight,
It helps to spread kindness to each other.
The care we give make them bright,
And the good feelings we gift brings us together.
It doesn't take more than a minute
The princesses stare at me with looks of innocence
Each tempting as pieces of candy
One cherry flavored taffy
The others blue raspberry gummies
I stared back with apathy and anxiety
She was a sweet baby girl, but her story was never told —
Her heart dangling by a hair-width string, so bare and so cold;
I don’t take prescriptions
Based on peoples descriptions
Of who I am
Because they don’t like my vision
Based on my decision
Of who I am
Not phased with the blame
The pain of being bullied cuts deep
It’s a pain that millions know and don’t know all at the same time
Bullying can completely destroy a person’s life
