I wish you a Happy Birthday!
Although I wish you a happy every day
for I need you to know you’re special
on all days and not but one.

I didn’t have much to give you,
so I wrote this poem for you
because I am so infinitely glad
that I get to call you my friend.

So smile, laugh, play, delight
on all days of the year and not just this one;
if life ever annoys and overwhelms,
know that I’m here for you
on all days and not but one.
