you will know god loves you
God loves you
Jesus did not just die on the cross for sins; he gave his life so we may live in his righteous blood.
Jesus did not deserve wrath from god, yet he was obedient to death, dying physically and spiritually for all the sinners.
I could not tell you how much god loves you with (just) words, so I wrote a poem.
“Father, if there is any other way, take this cup from me, I plea
I lived a sinless life for thee
My lord, my lord, why have you forsaken me
I give my life for humanity so all of your people may live a life in soundness with you.
Full of sin; now I'm separate from you; my holiness has left, I'm empty, full of stress, sweating.
Blood, yet I'm still drinking your cup of wrath
I give my life because “Father, they know not of what they do”
I give my life into the hands of you
Oh, how painful this feels, the separation of god and man, the separation of father and son
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me
Yes, I am the sacrificial lamb, I give my life as a replacement so they can live theirs.
Father, they know not of who I am
Betrayed I am here alone receiving punishment undeserved
(Romans 5:6-7)
To the unrighteous, I give my life so their righteousness now can be found in me.
The one who knew no sin became sin
Three days later, God raised him
Now the ruler of the living and the dead
He's coming back and calls all to repent and turn from their sinful ways
For he says, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
So come all who are weary, and Jesus will give you rest. Amen
(Philippians 5-8 in first person.)
If I did not love you why then would I
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be
used to my own advantage; rather, I made myself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
I humbled myself by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!”
