You Are My Home
Dear “Home,”
While there are many, your flaws complete you.
I love your flaws because they add to your value, rather than take away.
But you are more than just a home.
Your foundation, while cracked, supports me.
Your walls, while the paint is chipped, protect me from the outside forces.
You provide me with warmth on the coldest nights.
You provide me with shade away from the brutal sun.
But you are more than just a home.
You are where I want to end up at the end of the night, after a long day.
You are the person I want to talk to every minute of everyday.
But you are more than just a home.
You are my person.
You are my light at the end of the tunnel.
You are my happily ever after.
Your arms provide me with the warmth I need on the coldest of nights.
Your smile lights up the room, and allows me to thrive in your presence.
Your laughter fills my heart with joy.
But you are more than just a home, because you are MY home.
And so, I thank you for allowing me to look through your windows and into your soul.
Thank you for providing me with shelter, and caring for me.
You are my home, and without you, I’d be homeless.
