You are Beautiful

Thu, 05/09/2013 - 19:19 -- BecKa

Perhaps you don't know this or perhaps you haven't herd - you are beautiful - beauty - what a strange word
Maybe you have acne all over your face - how is that beauty - you must think you are a disgrace
But this acne will one day disappear and behind it I know is a face of a girl who just wants acceptance
Maybe you are overweight - which could be for a number of reasons,
you are brought down by peers in all seasons
But when given the chance to loose what you will,
Behind that I know is a girl who will still talk to those who judged her
Perhaps you have greasy hair and everywhere you go - people stare
But somewhere down the road when that is all cleared
I know behind it is a girl who isn't that weird
You see beauty should not be about body looks or how you see yourself in the mirror
It should be about what is inside - behind all the tears
I write this for you because I have been where you are
I have been called ugly- I have been scarred
Yet here I stand telling you today what someone should of told you yesterday
You are beautiful - don't say it's a lie because one day you will see it yourself
And in that moment when you realize your own worth
I hope you can say a kind word to someone else
Never change who you are because of your looks
Because in ten years - no one will care - it will be in the books
You are beautiful - I will say it until every girl knows
What no person can say - but what millions can show
