Without a filter

Without a filter
You would see haunted eyes from
Memories of her childhood
Without a filter
You would see the fake smile
Starting to crack around the edges
Without a filter
You would see the way she trembles
Thinking of the pain she has suffered
Without a filter
You would see someone who doesn't belong
A girl with no citizenship
Without a filter
You would see the bags under her eyes
From over thinking of what the future withholds
Without a filter
You would see the emotional scars
That a father can only inflict
Without a filter
You would see the academic struggle
To be the best only to support her family
Without a filter
You would see a girl who still stands strong
When everything is coming to an end
A girl who is determined to fight
A girl who only aspires to inspire
A girl who will one day succeed
