The Wild

Where leaves are green and trees are tall,

Where water roars and eagles call,

Where night will come and silence fall,

There I wish to be.

A place where deer and wolf run free,

Where is found the buzzing bee,

Where all can live in harmony,

There I dream to be.

Where all are equal great and small,

Majestic mountains lord o’er all,

And any man can stand up tall,

There someday I’ll be.

Fantastic sights await me there,

‘Twixt rushing stream and lumbering bear,

Where winter howls and spring is fair,

There I’ll finally be.

When life’s end is drawing closer,

When my days have reached their number,

When Death’s angel passes over,

There is where I’ll be.
