I don't understand

what drives another to take a life

all around

every channel

every second some new horrible event

 

I don't understand 

how can someone have so much hate

so much destruction inside them

they feel the need to harm another

does it take away the harm inside them?

 

I don't understand

how can someone harm a child?

a child that merely laughs and giggles

a child that has a sparkle in their eye

does extinguishing the sparkle of a child cure the ruin that is inside?

 

I don't understand

every week there seems to be a new tradegy

Someone takes another's brother, mother, father from them

how can somebody know they destroyed a family

how can someone find joy in another's tears?

 

I don't understand

all these news stories

"shooting at a mall 8 dead"

"shooting at an elementary school 20 dead"

"voluteer firefighters shot at a fire on Christmas Eve"
