Who Knew?

You brought me into the world

I cried

You gave me a life

Who knew it would be filled with strife?

You brought me into a home

I cried

You cared for me

You gave me a sister

Who knew I would have to protect her?

You brought me into a waiting room

I cried

You were in pain, a man with a mystery disease

You gave me a smile

Who knew it would be the last in a while?

You brought me into a pharmacy

I cried

You took some pills

You gave me a respect for medicine

Who knew the deep trouble you were getting in?

You brought me into a nightmare

I cried

You shook, you swore, and you sweat

You gave me your oxycontin

Who knew where I was going to hide it in?

You brought me into confusion

I cried

You were not yourself

You gave me sentiments that were all fake

Who knew how many moments that medicine would take?

You brought me into a divorce

I cried

You left

You gave me to your ex

Who knew what would happen next?

You brought me into a courtroom

I cried

You cried

You gave me a desperate look

Who knows what side the judge took?

Who knows what I would change if given the chance?

Many things have happened under utter circumstance.

Every experience I have gained has helped me to grow tall.

Every happening in the world has helped us one and all.

We must learn from our mistakes.

That’s what helps us grow.

If I changed something today,

Who knows what would happen further down the way?
