Who I Am

They say we’re supposed to be with other people

Am I not supposed to be with the one I love?

They say we’re not really “in love”

Did I really get to choose who I love when I was born?

They say it’s wrong and impossible to love the same sex

Is anything really impossible?

Is anything wrong if it’s not hurtful?

I’ve been kicked from my own house

Disowned by all my friends

Your family loves you

Do you love me?

Even if you don’t you’re all I need

The only one I want to adopt a child with

The only one I want to marry

The only one I want to spend the rest of my life with

No matter what they say, I do love you

And I hope that you will stay

Road of Healing

I believe in this cause greatly, though I live in Texas where there are discrimination laws
