White Inclination
Born to love
Taught to hate
Stranded between
nature and nurture.
Your soul and your skin
furiously debate
until your skin
becomes empowered
by what it learns about
It’s icy hue and
it leaves your soul to dissipate.
The idea of
“Whiteness” is just an idea
that takes on life as an identity
To those who see themselves enveloped
by it and intoxicated by its prize
Never mind the black bodies it needs
To feast off of in order to survive.
