From Where I Sit Currently

I see 22 guys wearing baseball caps. I see 3 girls wearing baseball caps.

I see 8 people in hoodies.

I see 7 people doing something other than taking notes on their laptops.

I see only one girl wearing a scarf, which is a bit shocking since it is 40 degrees outside today.

I hear people sneezing. I hear whispering in the back of the room.

I see 3 more people browsing the web on their laptops.

I hear the sound of keyboards clicking.

I hear my professors voice droning on, reviewing things I already know.

I see my professor hold up a model of a non-polar molecule.

I see a girl walk out of lecture.

I hear no more whispering. I hear no more click click click of typing keyboards.

I notice that the majority of people in this lecture hall have Mac laptops while only a few have PCs.

notice that only a couple of people have tablets because let's be honest, tablets are pretty useless to take good notes on.

I hear the professor ask the class a question. I hear only one third of the class answer.

I see another girl walk out of lecture. I think about walking out myself.

"Any other questions?" I hear complete silence.

I think about how I can't wait to go to English after this.

I think about how backwards that is since I'm not an English major.

I wonder what it would be like to be a writer.

"Does anyone have any questions up to this point?" I hear complete silence.

I hear shuffling and zippers. I realize that I could have left 15 minutes ago.

Class is over now.
