Where Are You Going?

Location

Now that the West coast is calling:

Where are you going?

Now that you are simply stalling:

Where are you going?

You pack your bags to up and leave,

Like a resolution on New Year’s Eve,

But do you know where you’re going?

You say that you have no choice:

Where are you going?

I feel that you have lost your voice:

Where are you going?

You’re caught up with the tasks at hand,

Bringing you across the land,

But do you know where you’re going?

I know that I cannot stop you:

Where are you going?

As much as I know I’d like to:

Where are you going?

Your changing plans alternate,

Like seasons, it affects your fate,

But do you know where you’re going?

I know that there has been some tension:

Where are you going?

Arguments that I won’t mention:

Where are you going?

It feels like we’ve been through it all,

Our friendship: now a crumbling wall,

But do you know where you’re going?

When the time comes, I’ll know what to say:

Where are you going?

Goodbyes are easy nowadays:

Where are you going?

You’ll be anxious to finally leave,

And I’ll keep my heart on my sleeve,

But do you know where you’re going?

It is known that love never dies:

Where are you going?

And it’s apparent in your eyes:

Where are you going?

Lastly, I will say it so,

When you’re ready to off and go:

Do you really know where you’re going?
