When I Count to Three...

Location

She walks home each day

Hearing the whispers

and all that they say

"Have you heard..."

"Her dad..."

"...some woman..."

Try as she might she can't block them out

They intermingle with her own thoughts

Making a a dark sickening soupy mess of her mind.

"...one knife..."

"...blood every where..."

"...disappeared..."

She hasn't seen him in three days

The crazy psycho killer

Her father

"...alone..."

"...lucky she's eighteen..."

"...her brother?"

She ran the house

She had been for three years

Her brother was all she had left

"...her mother..."

"...three years ago..."

"...suicide?"

There was no proof

The paper had said "natural causes"

But she knew the truth

"...two women?"

She entered her house

Waiting for reality to catch up

Waiting to wake up.

"...three years..."
