What are you?

How dare you, you hard and rough thing
You are so hard on yourself inside and out
You are ever so rough on others, but you can be smooth to the touch
Someone may enjoying holding you in their arms, but in the end, you are nothing more
You can light as the air or heavy as a burden, you put that much on someone
You are never ugly I must say, you are plain, a little odd, or even every so full of beauty
Sometimes people find you so special and unique to have, I never did, you are always in my path
You are always there when I don’t want you, and sometimes that gets annoying
You even let people step on you and toss you around like you are nothing
But you can’t tell because you my friend, are just a Rock.
