The Well

I heard of this well called Happiness,

I had never seen it before.

I decided to find it,

I couldn't wait to see what was in store.

The journey was long and hard,

but everytime I stopped I craved more

I came upon a clearing in the forest's core

There sat the well called Happiness

 I rushed over for

a look into the well, but it was empty.

I glanced around confused,

why was there nothing more?

That's when I saw him.

Sore were my eyes and legs that I had missed him before.

He reached out his hand,

And in that moment, I knew that together we would soar.

I heard of this well called Happiness and in the end

I knew that it had given me a friend.
