Weather Report

You wouldn’t know it if you met her

But her moods can make

Hurricanes in your soul

Storms that pour and destroy

And seem to last forever

There’s nothing you can do to stop it

You can’t control the weather

Not even in your own soul

You wouldn’t know it if you met her

But her hands can start

Fires wherever they touch you

The kind that burn on

Even after she’s left

You can call for help

But the scars will stay right there

Where she made you her own

You wouldn't know it if you met her

But her words can make

Earthquakes in your heart

And the aftershock will wreck

Your entire body with tremors

Creating fault lines in the walls

You worked so hard to build

And there’s no way to save yourself

You wouldn’t know it if you met her

But her body language invites

Tornadoes to wreak havoc in your brain

Spinning, collecting thoughts

And cause you to lose your sanity

She will be all you think of

You’ll be so dizzy-no telling left from right

And only she will be able to stop it

You wouldn’t know it if you met her

But she’s dangerous

And she’ll be the only place you feel safe

Repairing damage,

Moving out of her arms

Where you made your home

Will be the hardest thing you’ll ever do

But you’ll have to do it

You’ll have to control the weather

Instead of letting her control you.
