Behind that desk

You may think all of us kids are the same

All we want to do is

Talk or text or badmouth

But some of us want to learn

We want to be educated

But our teachers don’t teach

They fill our binders up with

Busy work and assignments

But that’s not what we want

We want an understanding of the problem

We want to know the world and everything in it

How do we do that if you do not educate us?

I suppose that is why I am homeschooled.
