The War for Peace

What's with the war for peace?
Sounds like nobody can agree.
There is one way, one thing to do:
We must find something to prove

that war doesn't help; it makes things worse.
Why can't we alter time and go in reverse
so that we can solve the biggest of all problems:
the war for peace and, peace and quiet?

What is with everybody screaming?
Why is everybody running around?
Why can't we just sit down and think about things
instead of running around?

What is with the war, the war for peace?
Why can't we look around and find the piece
of love and cherishing we all miss?
It has fallen into the deepest abyss.

Whatever happened to charisma?
Whatever happened to you and I?
Whatever happened to the war for peace?
What are we doing now?

This war never ends as we can see;
it's been going on for centuries.
Why can't we find a place where we can meet
and talk all about finding us peace?

Whatever happened to Woodstock?
What did everybody find?
Peace can be found in small places.
That's what we have to fix.

All we ever do is fight.
Everything's wrong and nothing's right.
Living each day in high suspense
isn't what I want in innocence.
Before I walked into this world.
where things are tense between boys and girls,
I didn't know peace was hard to find,
so I went out and tried to make it.
