War March

Location

Left. Left. Left. Right. Left.

Left. Left. Left. Right. Left.

The stampede of people cheer in the crowd

Depression of citizens no longer allowed

Banners soar, confetti fly

For now, at last, redemption is nigh’

Our lives have a purpose, our children don’t starve

We no longer dress in makeshift garb.

It is not our fault, we didn’t lose

Prosperity or destruction, how can we choose?

Left. Left. Left. Right. Left.

Left. Left. Left. Right. Left.

Papa, why can’t I play?

What happened to my friends from yesterday?

Mama, why is this star, so yellow and sacred,

Stitched on my jacket with so much hatred?

Who are these soldiers blowing the windows out?

What are these policies speaking about?

These men and these words, won’t let us be.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Left. Left. Left. Right. Left.

Left. Left. Left. Right. Left.

Able bodies move right, on towards your future.

Pay no attention to the gated creatures.

Keep moving. Keep going. No kiss for your son.

He moves on left, his life is now done.

Don’t give me your name, you are but just a number.

The boy now sleeps inside the gas chamber.

You want to go home? Well it’s simple you see.

Only know this: Work will set you free.
