The Wall

Location

The wall is there
Looming tall and divine.
Built from the bricks of adversity,
Which bake in oven of pressure and worry.
The wall is part of life.

Everyone has a wall
That is bounded around the fortress of the mind.
Only the brave few will attempt climb it;
To stand at the foot and breathe in it’s dominance.
But wall is the entrance to the inner-being.

We think that leaving the wall will bring relief,
However, its legs can run.
Beyond the wall is happiness,
Bathed in the flowing streams of indifference.
The wall will pull its roots and follow you.

Getting to the other side of the wall
Is the epitome of human achievement.
How do I climb this horrid, monstrous structure?
I stand at the wall with compassion as my sword,
And charge.
