The Voiceless

Humans are viewed to be compassionate,

yet I have seen the stark truth with these eyes.

So acknowledge my role as advocate.

The spite of man, no soul can justify.

Despite the bounds of our society,

I shall predominate and persevere.

We are said to be based on chastity,

but I shall make our harsh crimes become clear.

Their arduous, piercing cries are silenced,

and no one bears witness to their anguish.

Because of this I am in defiance,

for this discordant treatment is slavish.

Why insist on ravishing the helpless?

Speak for the innocent and the voiceless.
