Ups&Downs: Ambition

I’ve been towing this heavy life lately.

Can’t let my challenges ever shake.

My future is mine,

So I control what my fate will be,

But long nights working make me tired.

I lose it thinking why does life hate?

I have to remind myself of the future that I want

To have a job where I have fun.

I can’t believe I’m saying it but,

I’m starting to cherish the sleep.

There’s no time to sleep

Because by morning I need to be up on my feet

Ambition screams off my alarm clock

Telling me that the smart man gets to make his own plans.

The path to success never seems to go by the blueprint,

But there is no time to rest.

I will accept nothing less

To get a life I get to choose

Instead of a life I have to have.

To have the world’s buffet at my dining table and feast.

To get to business and make my own reputation

I can’t believe I’m saying it but,

I’m starting to cherish the sleep.

There’s no time to sleep

Because by morning I need to be up on my feet

Ambition screams off my alarm clock

Telling me that the smart man gets to make his own plans.

There’s no time to sleep

Because of all that life offers that you gotta see.

Martin has a dream

That income won’t just come in as streams,

But as flowing waterfalls.

I dream of waking up every day

And see that blue sky,

Just to remind me that the sky is not the only limit.

Having a pool so my kids can swim in it

And still work so I won’t get lazy

Because hard work is what has made me.

How would I show my kids how to live like kings

If I lived like a bum?

My ambitious lifestyle will never fade

To be able to sip on lemonade in the shade.

I can’t believe I’m saying it but,

I’m starting to cherish the sleep.

There’s no time to sleep

Because by morning I need to be up on my feet

Ambition screams off my alarm clock

Telling me that the smart man gets to make his own plans.

When we’re kids we dream,

But we lose dreams once we hit reality.

Never let reality determine your fate,

Remember that the haters will hate,

Recover your dreams before it’s too late,

And that there is a key to every gate.

I can’t believe I’m saying it but

I’m starting to cherish the sleep

There’s no time to sleep

Because by morning I need to be up on my feet

Ambition screams off my alarm clock

Telling me that the smart man

Gets to make his own plans.
