Undying Love

Location

I awake each morning,

With empty space at my side.

Yet I can feel your presence still.

Your sweet scent lingers on.

As I inhale, I think of you, again.

I still remember our warm embrace,

The way you would stroke my face,

And how you knew my every trace.

As I watch the stars in sky,

before saying goodnight,

I go back in time to our memories together.

It seems so close,

Almost real,

Your soft lips leave gentle marks upon mine.

But my dreaming does no good,

So I finally move from my perch at the window seat.

As I turn out the light and climb into bed,

I think of the two things that give meaning to my life;

Our darling children, to whom you passed on your smile,

and this last delightful though;

You may be gone, but our love will never die.
