Unchain Words of Freedom

I write because I can see the sky.

I can see the skyline and want to fly higher,

higher than the bird that floats among the leaves.

I find that words can bring people down to their knees

in harmony and peace and joyous occasion

at service, in prayer, during that special dedication.

I write because freedom means more to me

than the flag that is waiving and the ringing song of the free.

This is repetitive; my creativity stunted hurts more than I allotted

in my soul.

Ouch - dear therapist, what can I do?

There is only so much that I can doubt.

"Just write. Just let the words flow.

Let them just unchain your soul."
