A tWisTeD Fairytale

Rapunzel, Rapunzel – Don’t let down your hair

My dear, you have so much more than those golden tresses

Reach past the hairbrush and into your chest

Braid your heartstrings into a strong rope and climb down from your isolated fears

Take your sword with you – the one your mother gave you for defense

Cut off your hair with that sword – the one a witch gave you to keep you imprisoned

Let your blonde strands and stone-cold sadness fly away with the wind

You no longer must watch your dreams untangle

Your fate is in your hands

So when you are told to let down your hair

Put up your guard and fly away
