She walks by and I see your eyes drift away from me,
As if our conversation means nothing at all,
On a different day I would let it be;
I knew it was always for you I would fall.
So I sit here and wonder in my head,
If by chance,
You might be better off with her instead.
In the beginning it was love at first glance,
Now I’m afraid this could be the end.
Is this the inevitable karma talked about by my peers?
I’d like to think your feelings aren’t pretend;
I can only hope you won’t confirm my fears.

And then I find my doubts instantly washed away,
As a heartfelt declaration proves you are here to stay.
