Toy Box

Location

Completely surrounded but not a common soul

There's a part of me that hopes when that lid opens

Craving a taste of the light

But I know

There's a part of me that's broken

For so long I've been awake

Waiting for the day that I breathe again

But no matter how many smiles I plaster

In my heart, I know I'm fake

Afraid of being forgotten but never changing

My surrounding scatters and I slip under

Trying to reach out but I'm in a standstill

The light starts fading out

Blackout following the thunder

But that's what happens when you're at the bottom of the box
