Time Goes On
Location
The tumbling tides rush in and out,
As cheerful children run around and about.
Splashing in the morning sun,
I watch as time continues to run.
As I walk through the sand,
The heat of the sun consumes the land.
Looking out towards the sea,
I watch as time takes a knee.
Confused to what he has in mind,
Images start to play frightful and kind.
No longer on a peaceful coast,
I watch as time becomes my host.
An image of his once smiling face,
Causes my heart to begin to race.
Soon the light fades from his eyes,
I watch as time continues to go by.
I feel the splashing of the water at my feet,
I feel the warm wet tears as I begin to weep.
I watch as time takes my hand.
Standing in the tumbling tides,
I know that time is on my side.
