Throw Away

It's funny how people can just throw you away
Even after all you gave to humanity
Breathe, life, plain existence
That still doesn't determine how important you stand
Makes you wonder, what's the importance of man?
It takes death or solitary confinement to understand
What the world really thinks about you
The truth is, once you're gone they forget
Like you weren't a human being
Someone that loved
Someone that hurt
Someone that cared
You counted
And the world claimed to respect you
The fragile outline of a man
Father, Brother, Uncle, Son of a God
These were just a few titles you held on to
Society gave you right to claim these parts of you
But with the swiftness of lock
The lock of a 5 by 9 jail cell
Those titles are revoked
People from the outside looking in
Laugh at you, scold you, and give you a new label
Murderer...better yet, Monster
You might as well be the lowest of the low
You don't count
Number two pencils to erase your name out of the holy book
Man erased you
Thou shall not kill and for that heaven will never accept you
I cant attest to these things
But man judging each man's transgression is a unfair law
I'm sorry
Not for you
But for the rest of the world erasing you
I can't erase you
It's not in my heart to throw you away
Take away your liberty and your right to be happy
They put you in the dark, placed you among roaches
Made an example out of you
Of how one man can have power over another
Treat you like a piece of sketch paper
And throw you away
Society threw you away
And it makes me sad to think, I too can be thrown away
Maybe my day will come to meet that trashcan of iniquity
