Thanksgiving to the Sun

Location

The sunshine shone down to the earth like rain,

Her golden light warming the land around me.

Taking away all semblance of my pain,

And letting me spy the far away sea.

Gone are the days of my darkness and fear,

And calm are the nerves that once ran amok.

The world is alive, and no longer sere.

All bad is gone, the debris and the muck.

I am off to chase dreams of adventure;

to allow my world to broaden anew.

I say goodbye with one simple gesture,

And set off through the chilly, morning dew.

There is much peace in the world where I live,

And all for what the sun, to me, did give.
