Thanks to Myself

When we succeed at something

Who do we credit?

Typically not ourselves

We thank our parents

We thank our friends

We thank our teachers

But we do not thank ourselves

I think its time to put an end

An end to giving all the credit to others

And not stopping to thank ourselves

If i didn't believe in the achievements I've accomplished

Where would I be now?

Would I depend on my parents?

Would I depend on my friends?

Would I depend on my teachers?

This is what I need

This is what I believe

I can't live without giving myself credit

Reflecting on what I have done for myself

Reflecting on my acheivements

And for this poem

I would lke to thank my parents,

my friends, my teachers

But wait

Who wrote this poem?

I did

So most imporatantly

I want to thank myself

Thanks to me, I know what I need

This poem is about:
Me
