Acts 7: 48-49

48 Yet the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands, as the prophet says,

49 ‘Heaven is my throne,
and earth is the footstool for my feet.
What kind of house will you build for me, says the Lord,
or what is my resting place?

 

Church (the temple within)  

Where do you come from little church ... who decides the path you follow?

What are you supposed to do ... why do your efforts seem so hollow?

 

Aren’t you to help the needy ... shouldn’t you clothe the ones without?

Won’t you visit the sick and lonely ... isn’t that what this is all about?

 

Who takes care of the widow ... or them whose dad left long ago?

Are you here to talk the Gospel ... and not to live what you know?

 

Are you to live just Sunday mornings ... and dance on Holidays?

Are you called or were you chosen ... do you live your life away?

 

Are there feet to your prayer ... or do you expect God to do it all?

Do you use Him as a servant ... you let Him save you after all?

 

He should be glad with this chicken ... although I can’t lay an egg

as He listen to my constant cackle ... when I sit around and beg.

 

In the past Peter met a beggar ... by the temple on the outside

but aren’t we on the inside ... sitting pretty being “wise”.

 

Should beggars be on the outside ... until they find treasures within

or are they already inside ... not realizing they are kings?

 

Have we lost simple perception ... because our wants and will?

Makes me sick to think of this ... is that why life seems unfulfilled?

 

Bought with a price I’m not my own ... through my life can’t you tell?

I act different around my peers  ... the ones I guess you know so well?

 

Oh little church you need no man ... to lead where you ought to be.

Christ loves to deliver you ... from chosen blindness and your fears.

23 So then, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother and then come and present your gift.
