Takeaway; Taking us away

I am famished and I need Food, I am Thirsty and I need water but I prefer takeaway
Are we going to watch the effect with our Black hair ignorantly till it turns grey?
How did we get here, how can the rains fall and there will be no way?
The Easy lives we wish for; can we imagine prices we will have to pay?

The School behind the Church now plays on rubber Park
Can’t we live a day without Plastic or the so called Fast food Pack?
Of course our days are numbered, and rainy days are always dark
We are Africans, Yes! And proud, but this lifestyle is painting us black

Go to the bushes, go round our Markets, Extreme Loss of dignity,
And our shores and beaches, Clear indication of twisted Sanity
We find comfort in open defecation and every corner is a place to Pee
Why! Oh! Why! Who is responsible? If it is not you, it is definitely not me

Can we quench the Blame games with Responsibilities and Patriotism?
I am afraid but anything we do now has nothing to do with heroism
Our homes hold discipline no more and our actions have no rhythm
We all contributed to such a colossal mess; with me, you, us; we created them

Do we hope for bed of roses; prefer to be interrupted on our bed of plastics?
Our gutters are choked, waters are stagnant; wait! Are we not being dramatic?
With the environment, Air, food, water gradually becoming synthetic…
Then our realization to healthy living and economic freedom will always be Static

"Chooooooobuey"
"Chooooooobuey"
"Chooooooobuey"
This is not an awareness, it is a wakeup call… takeaway, is indeed taking us away
